Field notes: A wide road recedes into a desert plain, vanishing at a low horizon of distant buttes. A single rectangular panel stands upright at the right edge of the road, casting a long shadow back across the surface. A cluster of small spheres hovers above the buttes at the upper right. The panel and the cluster do not share a consistent scale with the landscape, and the panel’s purpose along the road is not resolved.
