Across the upper portion, three framed scenes are set into the composition: a building facade with arched windows and a central passage, a structure containing a circular form behind an aperture, and a partial view of bare branches at the left. A face-form is partially visible above the rightmost frame, set against a low mountain range. The institution has not determined whether the framed scenes are objects within the landscape or views onto separate spaces.
